Buffalo Air-Fried Tofu Poppers

If any of your friend's don't like tofu, surprise them with this recipe with either this spicy sauce or another one of your favourite sauces at home. These become so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it might become one of your favourite recipes to make for lunch or even as a snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Big Mountain Foods Soy-Free Tofu
  • ½ cup chickpea flour
  • ½ cup water, plus ¼ cup more if needed
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • ½ cup Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro, for garnish

Recipe Preparation

  1. Preheat air-fryer to 350 degrees
  2. Crumble tofu into 2-inch pieces
  3. Into a large bowl, combine flour and water and onto a plate, add breadcrumbs
  4. Dip each piece of tofu into batter, then roll in bread crumbs. Set aside. Repeat with remaining pieces
  5. Air-fry battered tofu for 12 minutes, or until golden brown
  6. Into a medium bowl, combine maple syrup and hot sauce
  7. Garnish the tofu with cilantro and serve with your sauce

Use agave syrup as a maple syrup alternative. Use gluten-free bread crumbs if needed.
