Retailers Choose Big Mountain Foods To Meet Consumer Demand For Plant Based
And New Product Innovation Wins The Prestigious NEXTY Award!
Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations – Following its expansion into a 70,000 square foot facility in early 2021, Vancouver plant-based food manufacturer Big Mountain Foods forecasts a strong finish to the year. The company’s HACCP-certified facility has allowed for further expansion into the USA, securing over 400 natural listings in 23 states, including Sprouts Farmers Markets and Haggen Food Grocery Stores.
“Quote,” says Jasmine Byrne, President of Big Mountain Foods. We are rapidly expanding across North America as retailers recognize the heightened consumer interest in health-focused and sustainable plant based solutions and that Big Mountain Foods delivers, with products that are delicious, healthy and made 100% with vegetables.
Retail expansion includes Walmart Canada in select stores starting September 2021, as well as Federated Co-operatives, Save Mart, Lucky Supermarkets, FoodMaxx, and Albertsons in Portland and Denver, representing hundreds of new store outlets across the U.S. and Canada. Big Mountain Foods has also partnered with ShopVejii.com, GTFOItsVegan.com, LegendsHaul.com, SPUD.ca, and Instacart.com and will launch their own ecommerce site in September 2021, providing online shopping as an additional shopping source for consumers.
The company’s investment in a sophisticated manufacturing system earlier this year to support a brand new tofu product line has sparked even more retailer interest in Big Mountain Foods. Their latest innovation is a soy free tofu made 100% with chickpeas, making it the perfect plant based protein alternative. Selected as the winner of the prestigious NEXTY Award in the Best New Speciality Diet Category, The Original Chickpea Tofu and The Original Smoked Chickpea Tofu are set to launch in retail across North America in early 2022 with several grocery chains already placing orders to ensure availability in stores.
